Where I Stand On The
Issues
Focused on the issues that matter to New Mexicans
-
Education is Fundamental
I am a strong supporter of public schools from Pre Kindergarten to vocational school and college to ensure young New Mexicans have the skills to succeed.
-
Health Care is a Right
New Mexicans deserve health and medical care that is accessible, affordable, and high quality. As a medical doctor, I have worked within the issues around medical access for decades. I am continuing my education by participating in a year-long physician leadership health policy fellowship. When I start serving in the House of Representatives, I will hit the ground running with health policies that serve the hard-working people of New Mexico.

Clean Air, Clean Water
We know that airborn particulate matter (PM2.5) leads to increases in many health care problems, including asthma, heart disease, strokes, cancer, Parkison’s disease, dementia, kidney disease, diabetes, and poor birth outcomes. PFAS (polyfluroalkyl substances) in the water, also known as “forever chemicals” because they take so long to go away, are associated with similar diseases, in addition to adversely affecting children’s development. Rules need to be put in place and enforced to keep polluters from fouling our air, ground, and water with these types of agents.
